Opening the season will be a McCarter commission, Christopher Durang's new Chekhov-inspired play Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike (September 7-October 7). Directed by Nicholas Martin, the production will, as previously reported move to New York's Lincoln Center following its McCarter Theater engagement.

Up next will be Elevator Repair Service's production of The Select (The Sun Also Rises), based on the novel by Ernest Hemingway, to run October 26-November 4.

In 2013, artistic director Emily Mann will helm Edward Albee's A Delicate Balance (January 18-February 17), a social comedy in which a suburban couple's lives are shaken by the arrival of houseguests. The theater will present Shakespeare's romantic and funny The Winter's Tale (April 2-21), directed by Rebecca Taichman.

Finally, the McCarter will partner with the Fiasco Theater to present Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's musical, Into the Woods (May 3-June 13).
