Ed Dixon, David Elder, Robert Newman, Kim Zimmer, et al. to Star in Paper Mill Playhouse’s Curtains

Former Guiding Light co-stars Robert Newman and Kim Zimmer will co-star as Lt. Frank Cioffi and Carmen Cohen Bernstein in the Paper Mill Playhouse’s production of Curtains, to run April 27-May 22. The production will be directed by Mark S. Hoebee, with choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter.

The show, by John Kander, Fred Ebb, Peter Stone, and Rupert Holmes, centers on a murder investigation taking in and around a Boston theater, where a fictional Broadway-bound musical is doing its out-of-town tryout.

The cast will also feature Ed Dixon (Christopher Belling), Amanda Rose (Niki Harris), Kevin Kern (Aaron Fox), Helen Anker (Georgia Hendricks), David Elder (Bobby Pepper), Aaron Galligan-Stierle (Daryl Grady), Dick Decareau (Oscar Shapiro), Rye Mullis (Johnny Harmon), Anne Horak (Bambi Bernstein), and Monique Alhaddad, Ashley Arcement, Colin Bradbury, Joshua James Campbell, Lauren DeCierdo, Mathew DeGuzman, Taurean Everett, Becca Kloha, Mary Ann Lamb, Ian Liberto, Patrick O’Neill, Happy McPartlin, Molly Tynes, Kyle Vaughn, and Dana Winkle.

The creative includes Tom Helm (music direction), Robert Kovach (sets), Tracy Christensen (costumes), Charlie Morrison (lighting), and Randy Hansen (sound).


Newman is currently starring in Curtains at the Hobby Center in Houston. Among his other stage credits are Glimpses of the Moon, A Little Night Music and The Full Monty. He received two Daytime Emmy Award nominations for his portrayal of Josh Lewis on CBS’ Guiding Light.

Zimmer was most recently seen onstage in the off-Broadway production of Love, Loss and What I Wore. Among her other stage credits are Four Dogs and a Bone, The Rainmaker, Jake’s Women, Blood Brothers, Dirty Blonde, and Gypsy. In addition, she is a four-time Daytime Emmy Award winner for playing Reva Shayne Lewis on Guiding Light and currently plays Echo DiSavoy on ABC’s One Life to LIve.
