In Michael Healey's The Drawer Boy, a young, aspiring actor lands at the doorstep of two farmers who are boyhood friends and WWII veterans. While researching farm life for his theater project, he reveals hidden secrets, and what begins as an amusing portrayal of rural and urban culture-clash peels away layers of forgotten love and tragedy. This heartwarming, heartbreaking story about the simple pleasures of friendship and remembrance is a beautifully written play, moving from toughness and hilarity to devastating tenderness. The cast features Michael Countryman, Carson Elrod, and John Bedford Lloyd.
