Squirrel Nut Zipper has a sound unlike anything else and the band takes great pride in that. Building off of their southern roots their music combines many different elements including jazz as well as the blues and they've even been dubbed as "30's punk" by one critic. Their music revolves around a variety of different themes. They've found inspiration from a number of things, ranging from ghosts to love gone wrong. Squirrel Nut Zipper has toured and played with a large assortment of people including Neil Young and Tony Bennett as well as appearing on popular shows such as Sesame Street and Late Night with David Letterman.
