WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
With an arsenal of humor, courage and surprise, Eric Overmyer's On the Verge (or The Geography of Yearning) follows three intrepid Victorian women as they enter a new realm comparable to passing through Alice's looking glass or Frank Baum's Oz. They'll trek from the darkest of jungles and ice fields to beaches and the highest Himalaya, until they discover a new landscape -- the future: 1955! A linguistic adventure-comedy in the ranks of Tom Stoppard and S.J. Perelman, this is an extraordinary event of theatrical wordsmith gamesmanship. Tazewell Thompson directs. There will be no matinee performance on March 11.
