The New York Times calls it "the best musical of this century." The Washington Post says, "It is the kind of evening that restores your faith in musicals." And Entertainment Weekly says, "Grade A: the funniest musical of all time." Jon Stewart of The Daily Show calls it "a crowning achievement. So good it makes me angry." They put the MOCK in democracy! The Capitol Steps plan to bring down the House … and Senate … with their unique blend of sharp political satire set to popular music! The ever-irreverent D.C.-based troupe pokes fun at all sides of the issues, from left to right, with fresh, up-to-the-minute material inspired by the latest headlines, scandals and more. The Steps' performances include songs from their latest album, Mock the Vote (2015), with possible "guest appearances" by a gaggle of aspiring presidential candidates – from Hillary to Huckabee – and many others in the news for all the wrong reasons.
The Mad About You star returns to his comedy roots! Paul Reiser began performing stand-up while in college, and was just honing his craft when Hollywood came a calling. Getting his big break in the iconic Barry Levinson movie Diner, Reiser became a regular fixture on the big screen, with roles in Beverley Hills Cop I & II and Aliens. In 1992 Reiser first appeared in the role with which he would become forever synonymous, Paul Buchman on NBC's Mad About You. The sitcom ran for seven seasons, and earned him Golden Globe and Emmy nominations.
Now Reiser is returning to his roots, with a series of stand-up gigs across the country. His observational comedy drills down into the minutia of life, tackling everything from married life to the joys of getting old. Have a question you've always wanted to ask him? Fans can participate in a Q&A after the show!
Comedy is rooted in his early days as a kid growing up in Boston. His dysfunctional family, repeat trips to juvie and his honest take on his own life and relationships make his comedy clever, abrasive and funny, yet refreshingly vulnerable. He was featured on the HBO's Tourgasm with Dane Cook and has been a highlight at Montreal's Just For Laughs Festival for the last four years. Besides being a fixture on Comedy Central, Robert can be seen recurring as Louie CK's brother Robbie on the hit series Louie, and is a series regular in Denis Leary's new hit comedy series, Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll!
