Bess Wohl's acclaimed drama Small Mouth Sounds, directed by Rachel Chavkin, will embark on a national tour beginning this summer.

The production will play the following venues: Long Wharf Theatre, Stage II (August 29-September 24); American Conservatory Theater's Strand Theater (October 11-December 10); Broad Stage (January 11-28); Dallas Theater Center – Wyly Theatre (February 1-11); and Adrienne Arsht Center (February 15-March 4). Casting will be announced.

The original design team includes Laura Jellinek (scenic design), Tilly Grimes (costume design), Mike Inwood (lighting design), Stowe Nelson (sound design), Andrew Schneider (projection design), and Noah Mease (prop design).

Small Mouth Sounds is described as follows: "In the overwhelming quiet of the woods, six runaways from city life embark on a silent retreat. As these strangers confront internal demons both profound and absurd, their vows of silence collide with the achingly human need to connect."

The work premiered in New York at Ars Nova in 2015 and played a 2016 run at Pershing Square Signature Center.
