Long Wharf Theatre will present Tony Award-winning Broadway star Kelli O’Hara (The King and I) as headliner of its annual gala on June 6. The event will be sponsored by First Niagara Foundation.

Following a cocktail reception, O’Hara will give a concert featuring her Broadway showstoppers and selections from the Great American Songbook in Long Wharf’s Claire Tow Stage.

"We are extraordinarily excited that Kelli O'Hara will be performing at our gala. She is, unequivocally, one of the great sopranos gracing our stages today," said artistic director Gordon Edelstein in a statement. "Kelli’s performance will certainly continue our tradition of amazing Gala performers, including Audra McDonald, Mandy Patinkin, and John Lithgow."

O'Hara's portrayal of Anna Leonowens in the critically acclaimed revival of The King and I garnered her the 2015 Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical, along with Drama League and Outer Critics nominations. Other Broadway credits include The Bridges of Madison County, Nice Work If You Can Get It, South Pacific, The Light in the Piazza, and many more
