Joe DiPietro to Present World Premiere Play The Second Mrs. Wilson During Long Wharf Theatre's 2014-15 Season

New Haven, Connecticut's Long Wharf Theatre has announced the lineup of productions for its 50th-anniversary season.

Thornton Wilder's classic American play Our Town, directed by Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein, will open the season. The production will run from October 9-November 2, with an official opening set for October 15.

Edelstein will then direct a production of Steve Martin's comedy Picasso at the Lapin Agile. Performances will begin November 26 in advance of a December 3 opening and will run through December 21.

The world premiere of Dael Orlandersmith's new drama, Forever, directed by Neel Keller, will be mounted on Long Wharf's Stage II. A tale of growing up in poverty in Harlem in the 1960s, the production will offer performances from January 2-February 1, 2015, with an official opening on January 7.

Joshua Harmon's comedy Bad Jews, which had its world premiere in 2012 off-Broadway with Roundabout Theatre Company (followed by a 2013 remounting), will be next on Stage II. Performances will begin February 18, 2015, in advance of a February 25 opening and will run through March 22.

Long Wharf will then present Kimber Lee's brownsville song (b-side for tray) as a coproduction with Philadelphia Theatre Company. Eric Ting will direct. Performances will run from March 25-April 19, 2015, with an official opening scheduled for April 1.

The world premiere of Tony Award winner Joe DiPietro's The Second Mrs. Wilson, which follows the journey of First Lady Edith Wilson, will round out the season. Edelstein will direct the production, set to run from May 6-31, 2015, with an official opening on May 13.
