Crossroads' primary effort is its four-play mainstage season, where the many timbres of the African American experience are given voice in full productions. Since 1978, Crossroads has produced over 100 works, many of which were premiere productions by the world's leading African and African American artists. Crossroads opened its first Broadway production in April 1999: IT AIN'T NOTHIN' BUT THE BLUES by Charles Bevel, Lita Gaithers, Randal Myler, Ron Taylor and Dan Wheetman.
