Armando Riesco has been selected to reprise the role of Elliot, which he originated in two plays on the East Coast, in the Goodman Theatre production of Quiara Alegría Hudes' The Happiest Song Plays Last. The production will run April 13-May 12.

The Happiest Song Plays Last takes place simultaneously in a Jordanian town and halfway around the world in a cozy North Philadelphia kitchen at the dawn of the Arab Spring. The play is set to the joyful sounds of traditional Puerto Rican folk music and chronicles a year in the life of souls as they search for love and a sense of hope. It is the third in Hudes' trilogy that follows a character named Elliot. The trilogy also includes Elliot, A Soldier's Fugue and the Pulitzer Prize-winning Water by the Spoonful.

In addition to Riesco, the cast will include Sandra Marquez, Fawzia Mirza, Jaime Tirelli, Demetrios Troy, and James Harms.
