THEATRE IN THE ROUND PLAYERS
About
Theatre in the Round Players made its debut with Life With Father on January 15th, 1953 in its original location at the YWCA in downtown Minneapolis. The YWCA was to be TRP's home until 1963.
When Theatre in the Round Players (TRP) was founded in 1952, there were only three other theatres:Old Log in Excelsior and, in St. Paul, the Edythe Bush Theatre and the Group Theatre. Today, the Twin Cities boast more than 150 performing groups, with some of the best theaters in the country. When the national magazine THEATRE CRAFTS devoted an issue to the Twin Cities, it chose only three for feature articles: the Guthrie, Childrens Theatre, and TRP.
