WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Shakespeare wrote this festive comedy for the English holiday of Twelfth Night, a time of merry-making that marked the end of Christmas celebrations and the beginning of the Carnival season. Its tale of shipwrecks, disguises, and mistaken identities makes for a charming evening, featuring some of Shakespeare's finest low comedy and poking gentle fun at wooing and the folly of lovers.
