WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Many consider The Mikado to be Gilbert & Sullivan's masterpiece, the tale of the son of the Mikado of Japan and his thwarted passion for the beautiful young girl to the Lord High Executioner. Its graceful and well-loved melodies include "A wandering minstrel I," "Three little maids from school are we," and "The flowers that bloom in the spring."
