WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Tony Award-winning and Pulitzer-finalist M. Butterfly traces lines of race, gender and power through love and deception. French diplomat Rene Gallimard is dazzled by "the perfect woman," Song Liling, a performer in the Peking opera. Yet as he seeks power over her, he finds far more than the submissive leading lady he wanted.
