Louis Sachar, creator of Sideways Stories from Wayside School, also wrote a novel called Holes, which won the 1999 Newbery Medal. Stanley Yelnats is convicted of a crime he didn't commit and is sent to Camp Green Lake to serve his sentence. Despite the name, the camp is a dry wasteland, and the boys there are assigned to dig one deep hole each day. But all is not as it seems. This production is suitable for ages 8 and up, and performs at the Hopkins Jaycees Studio.
