Sally Wingert and Richard Ooms to Star in Guthrie’s Happy Days

Sally Wingert and Richard Ooms will star in the Guthrie Theatre’s production of Samuel Beckett’s two-character drama Happy Days, to run February 14-March 8. The production, which will open officially on February 18, will be directed by Rob Melrose.
The show focuses on the eternally optimistic Winnie, inexplicably buried waist-deep in a mound of earth yet still cling to her life of arbitrary routines and rituals.
The creative team includes Michael Locher (sets), Christine Richardson (costumes), and Frank Butler (lighting). Melrose previously directed the Guthrie’s production of Pen and is cofounder and artistic director of San Francisco’s The Cutting Ball Theater.
