Full Cast, Creative Team Set for Penumbra’s Black Nativity

Casting and creative team information has been announced for the Penumbra Theatre Company production of Black Nativity–Hear Again the Christmas Story!, November 28-December 28, with Austene Van at the helm.
Conceived by T. Mychael Rambo and Lou Bellamy, Black Nativity is a gospel holiday journey including old favorites such as “No Room at the Inn,” “Angels We Have Heard on High,” “Silent Night,” “Joy to the World,” and several new arrangements by Sanford Moore including “My Way’s Cloudy,” “Christ is Born,” and “Go Tell it on the Mountain.” The cast will feature Yolande Bruce, Aimee K. Bryant, Ginger Commodore, Tonia Hughes Kendrick, Alanna Morris, Greta Oglesby, T. Mychael Rambo, Samuel G. Roberson, Jr., Cyndi Shepard, Marciano Silva Dos Santos , Namir Smallwood, Dennis W. Spears, and Jennifer Whitlock, who will be accompanied by Erick Ballard (percussion), David Hurst (vocalist/keyboards II), Sanford Moore (keyboards I), and Jay Young (bass).
The creative team will include Jason Allyn-Schwerin (scene design), Kathy Maxwell (light design), Martin Gwinup (media/sound design), and Carol Ann Winther (costume design).
