Full casting has been announced for the Guthrie Theater’s 2011 production of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, November 19-December 30. The holiday favorite, now in its 37th year at the Guthrie, will be directed by Joe Dowling with a script by British playwright Crispin Whittell.

In A Christmas Carol, Scrooge, a miserly and miserable man, resents generosity on all occasions and greets each Christmas with his well-known “bah humbug,” until he is visited one Christmas Eve by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Future. Through a restless night, the three spirits show him happy memories from his past, cruel realities from the present and the desolate future should he continue his cantankerous ways.

As previously reported, J.C. Cutler will star as Ebenezer Scrooge. The cast will also include Sam Bardwell, Robert O. Berdahl, Virginia S. Burke, John Catron, J.C. Cutler, Bob Davis, Zach Fineblum, Nathaniel Fuller, Stuart Gates, Emily Gunyou Halaas, Summer Hagen, Kathryn Lawrey, Tracey Maloney, Kris L. Nelson, Lee Mark Nelson, Isabell Monk O’Connor, Anna Reichert, Benjamin Rosenbaum, Angela Timberman and Suzanne Warmanen.

The artistic team will include Walt Spangler (set designer), Mathew J. LeFebvre (costume designer), Christopher Akerlind (lighting designer), Keith Thomas (composer) and Scott W. Edwards (sound designer).
