Four Humors Theater, Sandbox Theatre, Lamb Lays with Lion and New Theatre Group have been invited by the Guthrie Theater to each present a production as part of Singled Out: A Festival of Emerging Artists, which will run January 14-24.

Jason Ballweber, Brant Miller, Nick Ryan, and Matt Spring’s Mortem Capiendum, a dark and comic mediation on mortality delivered as a mock traveling medicine show, will be the offering from Four Humors Theater. Sandbox Theatre’s production of June of Arc, created by the company and written by Ryan Hill, fuses the story of the French saint with 1950s mythology.

The Black Arts, a production collaboratively created with Ryan Underblake that is inspired by a new wave of “hard rock” magicians, will be the offering from the company Lamb Lays with Lion, and New Theatre Group will present its staging of Trista Baldwin’s American Sexy, a play about four college students who find themselves literally and metaphorically detoured on a trip to Las Vegas.
