Workhaus Collective to Present A Short Play About 9/11

Workhaus Collective will present the world premiere of Dominic Orlando’s A Short Play About 9/11, at the Playwrights’ Center in Minneapolis, September 9-24, with an opening on September 10.

The play follows three characters stumbling through their lives a few short weeks after the attacks: a hilarious talk show host on the verge of being fired after a monologue of 9/11 jokes; a Russian bio-chemist whose frequent appearances as a terrorism expert are marred by his inability to stay sober; and a young woman who realizes the agonized face on all those “Missing” posters may be her own.

The cast will feature David Hanbury, Luverne Seifert, Craig Johnson, Carin Leonard-Gorrill, and Laurel Armstrong. The production is designed by Paul Herwig, with costumes by Kelsey Glasner and a soundscape by Anton Jones.

In conjunction with the play, Workhaus Collective will host the event, “A Decade On”, on Sunday, September 11, inviting visual artists and comic performers to respond to 9/11 before and after the performance of A Short Play About 9/11.
