The Guthrie Theater has announced casting for the Pillsbury House Theatre and The Mount Curve Company co-production of Tarell Alvin McCraney’s The Brothers Size, to run September 7-29 in the Dowling Studio at the Guthrie. Marion McClinton will direct.

The second play in Tarell Alvin McCraney’s trilogy The Brother/Sister Plays, The Brothers Size weaves together brothers, the bayou, and African mythology to create a stylized story of love and heartache.

The cast will feature James A. Williams (Ogun Size) and Gavin Lawrence (Elegba), reprising their roles from McCraney’s In the Red and Brown Water, as well as Namir Smallwood (Oshoosi Size) and Ahanti Young (providing percussion).

The design team will include Andrea Heilman (set design), Kalere A. Payton (costume design), Michael Wangen (lighting design), and Katherine Horowitz (sound design).
