Guthrie Theater Artistic Director Joe Dowling will star alongside Raye Birk and Sally Wingert in the Guthrie Theater's production of Faith Healer, by Brian Friel, to run October 17-December 6, with an opening on October 23. Dowling will also direct, with assistance from associate director Benjamin McGovern.

Dowling will play the title role in this play about faith healer Frank Hardy, his wife Grace (Wingert) and talent manager Teddy (Birk). Haunted by shared memories, each character relays their own version of a single story and how they are ultimately broken by a final, fatal event.
