Guthrie Theater Announces Cast for H.M.S. Pinafore

The Guthrie Theater has announced casting for its production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s H.M.S. Pinafore. Performances will run June 18-August 28 on the Wurtele Thrust Stage. Guthrie Artistic Director Joe Dowling will direct.

In the piece, Captain Corcoran’s daughter, Josephine, has fallen in love with ordinary sailor, Ralph Rackstraw. As the crew works to get things shipshape for the arrival of Sir Joseph Porter, Corcoran’s choice for a more sophisticated suitor for his daughter, Josephine must decide whether to follow her father’s wishes and marry him.

The cast will feature Robert O. Berdahl and Christina Baldwin as Captain Corcoran and Little Buttercup, along with Constantine Germanacos (Ralph Rackstraw), Seri Johnson (Cousin Hebe), Heather Lindell (Josephine), Jason Simon (Dick Deadeye), J. Tyler Whitmer (Bob Becket), Robb McKindles (Bill Bobstay), and Peter Thomson (Sir Joseph Porter). Barbara Bryne will make a special appearance as Queen Victoria,.


The ensemble will feature Joseph Bigelow, Nathan Bird, Nathaniel Braga, Alfie Parker, Jr., Adrian Pena, Adam Sarette, Brian Skellenger, Brian Sostek, Lauren Asheim, Timotha Lanae, Molly Sue McDonald, Tinia Moulder, Simone Perrin, Kersten Rodau, Aleks Knezevich, Nicholas McGough, and Laura Rudolph.
