Stephanie Rothenberg, Jim Stanek, Edward Watts Set for Guthrie’s Roman Holiday

The Guthrie Theater has announced full casting for its upcoming production of the new musical Roman Holiday, with music and lyrics by Cole Porter and a book by Paul Blake, to run June 9-August 19 on the McGuire Proscenium Stage. John Miller-Stephany will direct. Musical direction will be by Andrew Cooke.

Based on the Paramount Pictures film, Roman Holiday tells the story of Princess Anne, a radiant young woman on a European tour in Rome who sneaks away to explore the city.

The cast will feature Stephanie Rothenberg (Princess Anne), Edward Watts (Joe Bradley), Michelle Barber (the Countess), Jim Stanek (Irving Radovich), Christina Baldwin (Francesca Scabulo), Lee Mark Nelson, Christian Demaris, Marc Oka, Carolyn Doherty, and Janet Hayes Trow as well as an ensemble including David Anders, Matt Baker, Liam Benzvi, Joseph Bigelow, David Anthony Brinkley, David Colacci, Drew Franklin, Gabriela Garcia, Michael Gruber, Mary Ann Lamb, Ann Michels, Jared Oxborough, Aaron Lloyd Pomeroy, Laura Rudolph, Lainie Sakakura, John Skelley, Alan Sorenson, Peter Thomson, Angela Timberman, Tony Vierling, and Alexandra Zorn.

The artistic team is comprised of Alex Sanchez (choreography), Todd Rosenthal (set design), Mathew J. LeFebvre (costume design), Donald Holder (lighting design), Scott W. Edwards (sound design), and Wendell K. Harrington (projection design).
