Full casting has been announced for the Guthrie Theater production of Arsenic and Old Lace, to play the Wurtele Thrust Stage, April 9-June 5, with an opening on April 15. Joe Dowling will direct.

In this farcical black comedy, spinster sisters Abby and Martha Brewster are devoted to charity and family. But the sisters have taken on another project as well – befriending lonely older gentlemen and then poisoning them with arsenic-laced elderberry wine.

As previously reported, Kristine Nielsen and Sally Wingert will star, respectively, as Abby and Martha. The cast will also feature Michael Booth (Officer Klein), Bob Davis (Teddy Brewster), Tyson Forbes (Jonathan Brewster), Nathaniel Fuller (Reverend Dr. Harper / Mr. Witherspoon), Jonas Goslow (Mortimer Brewster), Terry Hempleman (Officer O’Hara), Hugh Kennedy (Officer Brophy), Kathryn Lawrey (Elaine Harper), Kris L. Nelson (Dr. Einstein), and Peter Thomson (Mr. Gibbs/Lieutenant Rooney).

The design team will include John Lee Beatty (set designer), Christine A. Richardson (costume designer), Tom Mays (lighting designer), and Scott W. Edwards (sound designer).

Nielsen recently appeared on Broadway in Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, with other Main Stem credits including Les Liaisons Dangereuses, To Be or Not To Be, Spring Awakening, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Greenbird, Jackie: An American Life and The Iceman Cometh. Wingert, a Guthrie regular, recently made her Broadway debut in La Bête.
