Guthrie Theater Announces 2009-2010 Season

The Guthrie Theatre will present 21 productions during its 2009-2010 season.

The offerings will include the Kneehigh Theatre’s acclaimed production of Noel Coward’s Brief Encounter; two works by David Henry Hwang, M. Butterfly and Yellow Face; Shakespeare’s Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet; Rebecca Gilman’s Dollhouse; Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest; Enda Walsh’s The Walworth Farce; Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire; Brian Friel’s Faith Healer; and the musical Ella, starring Tina Fabrique as Ella Fitzgerald.

In addition, the theater will present a filmed presentation of The National Theatre’s production of Racine’s Phedre, directed by Nicholas Hytner, and starring Helen Mirren, Dominic Cooper, and Margaret Tyzack, in July on the McGuire Stage.
