Marion McClinton to Direct World Premiere of Carlyle Brown’s American Family

Tony Award nominee Marion McClinton will direct American Family, a world premiere commission by playwright Carlyle Brown, presented by Park Square Theatre, March 16-April 7.

In the play, a woman returns to the playground where she last saw her mother, searching for the life she might have had. By revisiting her past, and meeting the half-brother she never knew, she finds a new path back to herself.

The cast will include Michael Terrell Brown (Tommy Richardson), Megan Fischer (Mary Ellen Collins-Richardson), Gavin Lawrence (Jimmy Richardson), John Middleton (Billy Collins), Tracey Maloney (Narrator), Greta Oglesby (Martha Richardson), Noel Raymond (Laura Collins-Richardson), and James A. Williams (Sonny Richardson).

The design team will include Gabriel Backlund (scenic designer), Michael P. Kittel (lighting designer), and C. Andrew Mayer (sound designer), Abbee Warmboe (properties designer).
