David Ogden Stiers and Ruth Williamson will star in the Detroit production of Irving Berlin's White Christmas, to run at the Fox Theatre, November 19-December 28.
The plot revolves around two show business buddies, Bob Wallace and Phil Davis, who put on a show in a picturesque Vermont inn and find their perfect mates in the bargain -- sister act Betty and Judy Haynes. The score includes such Berlin classics as "Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep," "Sisters," "How Deep is the Ocean," and the title song.
Stiers, who will play General Henry Waverly, is best known for his role of Major Charles Emerson Winchester III on the TV series M*A*S*H, which earned him two Emmy nominations. He received a third Emmy nomination for the NBC miniseries The First Olympics Athens 1896.
Williamson, who will play Martha Watson, has appeared on Broadway in The Music Man, La Cage Aux Folles, Epic Proportions, Little Me, Guys & Dolls, Smile, Musical Comedy Murders Of 1940, and Annie.
