Hinton Battle to Direct Gem’s Marvelous Wonderettes

Three-time Tony Award winner Hinton Battle will direct the Gem Theatre’s production of The Marvelous Wonderettes, beginning an open-ended run on February 3.

Roger Bean’s musical uses classic tunes from the 1950s and 1960s as it tells the tale of a girl singing group and their hopes and dreams. The cast will feature Gretchen Bieber, Holly Davis, Marley DelDuchetto and Laura Hall. Michael Roberts serves as musical director.

Battle received Tonys for his performances in Sophisticated Ladies, Miss Saigon, and The Tap Dance Kid. His additional credits include co-directing and choreographing the Off-Broadway show Evil Dead: The Musical.
