The Guitarron by Lynne Alvarez: Chronicles the impact that a cello player and his music have on the desperate lives of fishermen in a camp in Veracruz, Mexico. Directed by Wayne Robinson. July 14, 2004 at 7 p.m. Day of Reckoning by Melody Cooper: This award-winning play, based on the lives of Lucy and Albert Parsons, is an exciting cautionary tale about the curbing of political freedom. Lucy (a freed slave) and Albert (an ex-Confederate soldier) fall in love and then become leaders of the explosive labor movement in 1880's Chicago. And they change the face of history. Directed by James L. Randolph July 28, 2004 at 7pm. Yemaya's Belly by Quiara Hudes: Jesús dreams of flying across the ocean and meeting the President of America. Then a boy's most naïve dream comes true, and he finds himself drifting on the ocean towards a new home. Directed by Rickie J. Martinez August 4, 2004 at 7pm. The Journey Through the Fire by Lawrence Bullock: The story of Bridget Cleary, a fiercely independent, strong willed and outspoken Irish woman, who suffers the consequences of being ahead of her time in a country strongly tied to a patriarchal and pagan past, struggling to begin its own journey into a new and uncertain future. Directed by Lisa Morgan. September 22, 2004 at 7pm. The Woman from the Sea by Spence Porter: A contemporary adaptation of Ibsen's classic, The Lady from the Sea, in which a woman must choose between her past and present when a mysterious visitor returns to claim her. Directed by Barbara Sloan October 20, 2004 at 7pm.
