In Ladies and Not So Gentle Women, a world premiere play by by Alfred Allan Lewis, Bessy Marbury is a hoot and her lady friend Elsie de Wolfe is a darling. And the Vanderbilt and Morgan girls are always fun. Besides, it is tantalizing to get a glimpse into the world of several fabulous Saphists of a time when the love that dares not speak its name flourished behind damask-covered walls in the high circles of Newport and the Berkshires, New York and Paris.
