The talented actress, singer-song writer will appear this fall in the eagerly-anticipated film version of Broadway's Rent, reprising her Tony-nominated performance of Maureen. Born in New York, the creative and artistic performer has been singing since the age of five. Menzel made her Broadway debut in the original cast of Rent. She went on to win the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical for her role as Elphaba, The Wicked Witch of the West, in Wicked.
