Round House Theatre Presents Father Comes Home From the Wars (Parts 1, 2 & 3)

Pulitzer Prize winner Suzan-Lori Parks’ show begins this evening.

Round House Theatre continues its 2015-16 season with Father Comes Home From The Wars (Parts 1, 2 & 3), which starts performances tonight.

Inspired by the stories and scope of Greek tragedy, the trilogy tells the story of Hero, a former slave from West Texas. During the turmoil of the Civil War he travels east to the Confederate battlefield and is confronted by the mess of war and the cost of freedom.

Timothy Douglas directs Suzan-Lori Parks’ play, which features JaBen Early, Valeka J. Holt, KenYatta Rogers, Craig Wallace, Jefferson A. Russell, Jon Hudson Odom, Story Ayers, Ian Anthony Coleman, Tim Getman, and Michael Kevin Darnall.

The creative team includes Tony Cisek (set design), Helen Huang (costume design), Andrew R. Cissna (lighting design), and Eric Shimelonis (sound design).

Performances will run through February 21.
