"People need a Theatre wherever they are. I never thought about there being a theatre in my name. But a miracle happened and people who understand and wanted some aspect of the teaching built a school. People need to study. It is not a loose thing. It is a profession like architecture so we need a place where people cultivate their talent. Then they wanted to build a theatre in my name. I couldn't say anything. They said "You deserve it". Irene Gilbert is the head person of this enterprise and I officially want to thank her for making the theatre and school possible. The value of theatre in Los Angeles is important and this is the first time in my life where I have seen this magnificent combination."
