About This Venue
"A total theatre experience!" L.A. Times. Santa Monica Playhouse, founded in 1960, provides exciting and entertaining theatrical productions, Family Theatre musicals, birthday and tea parties, theatre workshops and educational programming for pre-schoolers, young people, teens and adults, classes and in-service in public and private schools, cultural exchange, international touring, and community outreach, as well as theatre rental space for productions, seminars, solo shows, concerts, recitals, lectures, meetings and more. The Playhouse has been honored with over 200 awards and commendations and has presented 500 dynamic classic, contemporary and original productions, touching the lives of 5 million audience members, including 1½ million students and educators, and 500,000 international audience members, artists and students through over fifty cultural exchanges.
