Synopsis

South Coast Repertory presents the world premiere of The Studio (A Play with Dance), written, directed and choreographed by Christopher d'Amboise.

Sensual and often touchingly humorous, South Coast Repertory's latest world premiere throws open the doors on the rehearsal hall, as a celebrated but reclusive choreographer creates a new ballet for two dancers -- a veteran who has seen it all and an up-and-comer who wants it all.

The rarified world of top-flight dancers is one Christopher d'Amboise knows well. He has choreographed over 70 ballets and is a former principal dancer with the New York City Ballet, working closely with both Jerome Robbins and George Balanchine.
