Butch Hammett's Southern Discomfort arrives in Hollywood at the Hudson. It's based on his experiences growing up in Georgia. Butch plays all the characters depicted. As a horny adolescent, he learns about the facts of life from a summer camp counselor. You can also learn a lot from sheep, but you'll have to see the show to get the full import of it. Butch's knowledge is tested when a busload of girls from another facility is brought over for a dance. A Vietnam vet buddy gives him his first taste of alcohol. Butch starts a romance with the girl he's loved since the fourth grade. He lands in his first barroom brawl and does a short stay in the clink. Reaching the age of manhood and full of young rebellion against his family, he leaves the South for the Big Apple, where he seeks celebrities and finds comeuppance.
