"You better be strong." Set in 1991, the televised musings of self-help guru Dr. Waxling (Joseph Dunn) send Martin Mirkheim (Brian Ridings) on a cross-country crusade to get his unwilling mentor's book made into a movie.
To do this, Martin "refuses to be trapped by limitations outside his main focus," namely $47,000 in back taxes due to the state of Florida, professional annihilation via a recently bankrupt circus and ice-skating tour booking business and a guru that "does not see him as a threat" (AKA will not take a meeting with him). Mirkheim will enlist anybody - from a shady business man Kim (Adam Hunter Howard) and his coke-dealing associate Ron (Dan Fishbach) to his disgruntled ex wife (Kimberly Irion) - and stop at nothing - lying, manipulation, and even murder - in order to get his movie made and become "the biggest threat there is."
Howard Korder's (author of BOY'S LIFE) darkly comic allegory, coming this summer to The Ruby Theatre at The Complex in Los Angeles.
