WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Mercy Warren, an American writer, invites several friends over for tea, shortly after the American Revolution, hoping that they will set aside their political differences, so she can write a detailed description of the war from a woman's perspective. But she is soon disappointed. The tea party becomes a confrontation and far from a civilized one.
