Synopsis

Tracy Letts has written a powerful character study about the seedy side of life. This play is filled with violence, revenge, hate, greed, sex - and humor. Somehow Mr. Letts has taken the worst in humans, put it on stage, and actually sprinkled humor through the violence. A trailer-park take on Double Indemnity, this plot brings out the worst in everyone. Chris Smith needs to kill his thieving mother to get her life insurance. He hires Killer Joe, a crooked cop, to get the job done, and pulls his loser father, sexpot stepmother and off-kilter sister into the scheme.
