WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Overtone Industries reprises its original holiday play, It's A Pretty Good Life. Directed by Tony Abatamarco and produced by Mia Torres, the irreverent play was developed by O-Lan Jones, Artistic Director of Overtone, with lyricist and book writer Kathleen Cramer and Andrea Stein. Music is composed by J. Raoul Brody.

In this "play with songs," a ramshackle group of performers, led by the Three Wise Babes, give in to the pressure all theater companies feel at the holiday season, and agree to stage Charles Dickens' classic, A Christmas Carol. Unfortunately, they only have a vague recollection of what it's about. Is it Tiny Tom? Or Tiny Tim's Dad's boss? With eternal optimism they hold auditions on, of all nights, Opening Night! They're really hoping for a miracle this time.

The Three Wise Babes eventually cast a Tap Dancer, a singer-physicist, "Screamin' Stephen J. Hawkings," as well as his saucy nurse, a theatre critic, and, with a nod to the season, an Angel.
The production includes the classic Overtone songs; "Why Do I Have To Do Everything?" and "What's In a Dress?" Not to mention Mr. Hawking's rendition of "I'm a Star," and the anthem "It's a Pretty Good Life."
