Synopsis
One of the best-loved stage and screen musicals of all time, Fiddler on the Roof tells the story of a dairyman - an old-fashioned father who, like the other fathers in the small village of Anatevka, has raised his children to uphold the age-old Jewish customs of his ancestors. As the time arrives to find husbands for his beloved daughters, tradition dictates the intervention of a matchmaker. But in 1905 Tsarist Russia, as his country teeters on the brink of great upheaval, Anatevka's traditions begin to crumble, and Tevye discovers that the hearts of the young will no longer be governed by their elders.
