Clowntown City Limits is written by and stars Dave Allen, Mark Fite and Jim Turner, known collectively as TWO HEADED DOG. TWO HEADED DOG has been performing around the central L.A. basin since 1995. In addition to semi-regular shows at Largo, they can be seen together as members of a deranged cult in the HBO Short movie Tenacious D at Jesus Ranch and deranged surfers in the movie Off The Lip.

Clowntown City Limits brings them together as a trio of down and out clowns living in a home that's not the worse place in the world but it's "worst place adjacent." In ten scenes they manage to pay a back-handed tribute to the world of clowns while turning it upside down and inside out, revealing the darkness inherent in every black-velvet clown painting that ever hung over a frightened child's bed. In keeping with this de-constructionist homage, their maniacal reveries are accompanied live by composer Andy Paley's musical insanity.
