CATS MUSICAL MORE THAN BRILLIANT!
We just returned back from New York but did see the musical, CATS - produced by Cabrillo Music Theatre - on opening night, July 24, 2009, and just let me say that this production was extraordinary and very worthy of the STANDING OVATION which it received. I was totally glued to my seat, as was my husband and my two daughters, throughout both acts. Dana Solimando richly deserves the highest credit for having directed and choreographed this remarkable production. The set was richly lit with stunning and movable lighting. The costumes were striking and tailored to look authentically-CAT! Each cat?s make-up was designed individually - no one looked alike! The actors performed terrifically, and I must say there were some "standouts": Jo Patrick as MISTOFFELEES was astonishing and dazzling! His magical dancing dazzled the hearts of all! Colette Peters as JENNYANYDOTS made both my daughters giggle to the rafters as she tap-danced her heart-out with humor and jesting! She blew the roof-off with her magnificent belting tones! Jessica Bernard as both JELLYLORUM and GRIDDLEBONE performed brilliantly. Her exceptional soprano voice was breathtaking. Congratulations to the entire cast! Bravo!! We look forward to attending many more Cabrillo Music Theatre productions!
