Nathan Gunn to Star in L.A. Opera's Magic Flute

Nathan Gunn will alternate in the role of Papageno in Sir Peter Hall's production of Mozart's The Magic Flute, to be presented by the LA Opera, January 10-25. The production will feature stage direction by Stanley Garner, music direction by James Conlon, sets and costumes by Gerard Scarfe, and lighting design by Michael Gottlieb.

The cast will feature Markus Werba as Papageno at other performances, along with Marie Arnet and Erin Wall alternating as Pamina; L'ubica Vargicova and Albina Shagimuratova alternating as The Queen of the Night; Matthew Polenzani and Joseph Kaiser alternating as Tamino, Gunther Grossback and Morris Robinson alternating as Sarastrom and Amanda Squiteri and Valerie Vinzant alternating as Papagena. Matthias Goerne plays The Speaker at all performances.
