Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux’s Baby It’s You! has extended its run at the Pasadena Playhouse through December 20.

The show, directed by Mutrux, is based on the life of Florence Greenberg, a New Jersey housewife who discovered The Shirelles. With African-American song-writer Luther Dixon, she built one of the most successful independent record companies, and in the process, they created such records as “Baby, It’s You,” “Soldier Boy,” “He’s So Fine,” “Dedicated to the One I Love,” “Tonight’s the Night,” and “Twist and Shout.”

The company features Meeghan Holaway as Florence Greenberg, Allan Louis as Luther Dixon, and Barry Pearl as Bernie Greenberg and Milt Gabler, along with Erica Ash (Micki/Shirelle), Berlando Drake (Shirley/Shirelle), Geno Henderson (Jocko Henderson/Ron Isley/Chuck Jackson/Gene Chandler), Adam Irizarry (Stanley/Mr. Bass Man/Burt Bacharach), Paulette Ivory (Beverly/Shirelle/Dionne Warwick), Barry Pearl (Crystal Starr Knighton (Doris/Shirelle/Millie), Matt McKenzie (Marvin Schlacter), and Suzanne Petrela (Mary Jane/Lesley Gore).

The creative team includes Birgitte Mutrux (choreography), Richard Perry (music director), Anna Louizos (set design), Lizz Wolf (costume design), Howell Binkley (lighting design), Martin Carrillo (sound design), and Jason H. Thompson (projection design).
