Conor McPherson's The Eclipse, which had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, will open the Los Angeles Irish Film Festival, according to a report in Variety. The film, written and directed by McPherson, will be seen on September 23 at the Linwood Dunn Theater.

The Eclipse stars Ciaran Hinds, Aidan Quinn, and Iben Hejejle and tells the story of a widower whose life converges with a pair of authors. The screening on the 23rd will be followed by a reception featuring a performance by the musical trio the Henry Girls and hosted by the Irish Film Board.
