ClassicsFest 2010 Announces Line-Up

The Antaeus Company, L.A.’s classical theater ensemble, has announced the line-up for ClassicsFest 2010, a festival of actor-initiated workshops, readings, and special events, to run July 6-August 15.

July events will include Peace In Our Time by Noël Coward, directed by Jessica Bard (July 6-10); Les Femmes Savantes (The Learned Ladies) by Molière, directed by Robert Goldsby (July 13-15); Juno and the Paycock by Sean O’Casey, directed by Allan Miller (July 17); Puntila and Matti by Bertolt Brecht, directed by John Apicella (July 20-22); The Merry Wives of Windsor by William Shakespeare, directed by Armin Shimerman (July 24); The Helen Fragments by Euripides/Homer/Ovid/Sappho, directed by Michael Hackett (July 27-29); and Faith Healer by Brian Friel, directed by Bart DeLorenzo (July 31).

In August, the festival will continue with Les Blancs by Lorraine Hansberry, directed by Gregg Daniel (August 3-5); The Capulets and The Montagues by Lope de Vega, directed by Anne McNaughton (August 7); Arcadia by Tom Stoppard, directed by Andrew Traister (August 10-12); The Malcontent by John Marston, directed by Elizabeth Swain (August 13-14); The Third Act Project from the plays of Anton Chekhov, directed by Jeanie Hackett (August 14); and a wild card performance (August 15).

There will also be late-night performances, a cabaret, a special closing day event and a wild card performance on August 15.
