Former Saturday Night Live star Nora Dunn will join Andrea Bowen, Gideon Glick, and Bobby Steggert in the L.A. Theatre Works' The Play's The Thing production of Stephen Karam's Speech & Debate, May 14-18, at the Skirball Cultural Center. The shows, directed by Matt August, will be taped for future radio broadcast.

The play concerns three teenage misfits in Salem, Oregon, who reluctantly form their school's first speech and debate team after discovering they are all linked by a sex scandal that has rocked their school. Karam is best known as the co-author of columbinus.

Bowen starred on Broadway as Marta von Trapp in the 1998 Broadway revival of The Sound of Music and later appeared in Jane Eyre. She is best known as Julie Mayer on ABC's Desperate Housewives and recently starred in the acclaimed Lifetime television movie Girl Positive.

Glick starred in the original Off-Broadway production of Speech & Debate and the Broadway musical Spring Awakening, Steggert's New York credits include 110 in the Shade, The Slug Bearers of Kayrol Island, and Yank! Next month, he will play Mordred in the New York Philharmonic's production of Camelot.
